La Fortuna has no beach and the volcano is not in the town centre. The national-park entrance is roughly 16 km away, while Río Celeste and Caño Negro are full-day outings. We say when a transfer or car matters.

No. The official national-park entrance is roughly 16 km from town. A taxi, car, bus plus a walk, or a tour transfer is needed.
No. Visitor trails stay on the lower slopes and old lava areas; the summit and crater are not a normal tourist hike.
